– Mark TwainWhen my wife and I started Sunny Cups Coffee in 2024, our purpose was to own a sweet little coffee shop in San Jose, CA. We loved the idea of creating and running a small family run business. A coffee shop; not only was intriguing but it also resembles our American dream of doing what we love and including our family in the process. With that dream in mind, we set out to get started, we went around multiple coffee shops and we would talk about things we loved, liked and disliked. Our brains would come up with ways to make the space more valuable to the customer and our creative side would find ways to make it feel more welcoming. This is extremely exciting but we knew that this journey to own a coffee shop in the Bay Area is extremely expensive.
We had a choice to make. To adapt or to give up and look for something else. We chose to adapt and that’s when catering came to mind. We stumbled upon a video of a wood worker making a beautiful coffee cart and seeing other people run a full cade on a mobile coffee cart. This is when we put all our cards down and decided to move forward with it. We bought our first machine, we found a woodworker in Los Angeles to make a custom coffee cart and after all that we finally got our little mobile coffee shop.
